When was the last time you searched for something on Google? Like, a few minutes ago right? And you ended up here? 🙂
That’s how important it is for your website to contain the right keywords based on your business and industry. If you don’t have them, no one will find your website!
What is Industry Keyword Research?
Industry keyword research is about figuring out the words and phrases people use when they’re searching for things related to your business. It’s like being a detective for online trends related to what your business or company does, or the products you sell.
When we’ve figured out the right keywords and phrases for you, and make sure your content includes them, you have a higher chance of your website (and other marketing materials) being ranked by the search engines, and people finding you.
Ultimately, the more people that find you, the better chance you have of converting those leads into sales.
Here’s how we do it
You don’t need to know how this works, because we do it for you. But if you want to understand why it works, here’s some more info about – for your own personal education!
Keyword research involves identifying keywords and phrases that potential customers are likely to use when searching for your businesses.
This includes primary keywords (e.g., “dentist in [city]”) as well as long-tail keywords (e.g., “family-friendly restaurants near [landmark]”). Tools like Google Keyword Planner and local keyword research software can assist in this process.
Why? We want to know what these keywords and phrases are so we can included them in our content and attract the right visitors to our website.
Local search intent is like the GPS of online searches—it’s when people are looking for information or businesses with a specific location in mind.
Let’s say you’re craving pizza, and you type “best pizza near me” into a search engine. That’s local search intent in action. It’s all about finding relevant results close to your current location.
We tap into this by optimizing your online presence with location-specific keywords and details, making sure they pop up when someone nearby is on the hunt for the things you do.
Why? We want to capture your local audience as these people have the highest chance of increasing your sales, and repeatedly.
Okay, so this is a bit techie, but bare with us…
We want to find keywords/phrases that balance search two things known as volume and competition, so we have a higher chance of ranking for those words.
Keyword Competition is how hard it is to rank for that keyword because a lot of other websites are already ranking for it.
Why? If all the keywords we use are super competitive, we’ll never be able to rank for them. It’s best to also include terms that are meaningful but less competitive so our pages can appear high up in the search results.
We then take everything we learned and apply these keywords/phrases to your website (using some of our other tools!)
