Why do you need to watch your page rankings in the search engines?
Knowing how your website pages are ranking is very important because they show you what pages are performing well (being in the top 10 search results), and which pages are lost in the abyss of the search engines – we need to fix those pages so they can also see the light of day in the top 10.
Also, seeing how your page rankings are changing over time (going up in rankings or going down) let’s us know if we’re making the right adjustments and where to keep improving – like mid-term grades!
Pages that go down are immediate red flags – and we then need to understand what’s changed so we can get back on top (did a competitor write better content than you?)
By always watching your page rankings, we can stay “in the know” and redirect your ship (aka your website!) in the right direction for the best possible rankings you can get 🙂
